The Remeka area and several nearby localities in Ufamandu I groupement, Masisi Territory in North Kivu, were reportedly brought back under the control of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and Wazalendo fighters on Saturday morning, October 3, following several hours of fighting with AFC/M23 fighters who had controlled the area for about a week. According to local military sources, fighting resumed at around 4 a.m.
